Thermal
storage is a cylindrical tank made of GI sheets (rolled to
drum). The actual volume of tank is set at double of the requirement
in order to cater for future enhancement and steam / vapors.
The
tank comprises of two (02) concentric tanks made of GI sheets
having different gauges. A vacuum is retained between two
tanks for the placement of rock wool. Rock wool provides resistance
to avoid heat losses to surroundings by conduction, convection
or radiation. Since tank is concealed, therefore, pressure
relief valve is used to avoid pressure increase in cabin due
to any unpredicted block. Water top level will be retained
at 50% of tank height where 50% is dedicated for the steam/vapors.
The
pressure relief valve will operate only for a short duration
when the dedicated space for steam / vapors is filled.
